Automatic night light using PNP transistor and photoresistor(LDR)

Below is the schematics diagram.

The R₁ controls the sensitivity of the circuit. If R1 is small, like 10k ohm, a little darkness will activate the LED.

An easier way is to replace R₁ with a trim pot (100k ohm)as a rheostat, to get the wanted brightness and sensitivity.
