Using a DPDT 9v relay to control 2 LEDs.

The breadboard circuit, which consist of:

  • 9v battery
  • 2 led, red and green
  • DPDT 9V relay, this relay is reverse polarity for the coil
  • 330 ohm resistor
  • Tactile switch
  • Breadboard
  • Jumper wires
Green LED connected to Normally Close(NC), red LED connected to Normally Open(NO). Coil not energised.
Coil is energised when switch is pressed. Red LED connected and lighted up.

Below is datasheet for the relay. Note that the relay model number has a letter ‘R’ at the back, which means the coil polarity is reverse as compared to the schematic diagram below.
